Monti Inc., an industrial manufacturer specializing in manufacturing and fabricating copper and aluminum conductors, insulators and steel components, plans to expand its manufacturing complex in Greenwood County, South Carolina. The company is investing more than $500,000 in the project.

In an effort to meet increased customer demand, Monti is investing in new equipment for its Upstate facility, which is located at 104 Airport Industrial Road in Greenwood. The new investments will include a second CNC lathe and a new C02 laser.

“Our customers requested our previous additions of laser cutting services and CNC lathe capabilities to help them with local solutions and faster lead-times. We have already outgrown that equipment and need to make further investments in advanced machinery to continue to better serve our customers’ needs,” said Monti Inc. Greenwood Plant Manager Nick LaVigne.

“This advancement in technology will increase our capabilities and quality, while decreasing our lead-times, allowing us to be more competitive,” Monti Inc. Site Quality Manager Chuck Swofford added.

“The success that we’ve seen in economic development in South Carolina is due to great companies like Monti continuing to invest and showing their commitment to our people. The Team South Carolina approach to workforce training and education reform has made our state one of the best places in the world to do business,” said Governor Nikki Haley.

“The fact that Monti chose to invest in new equipment and technology in the Greenwood County facility is further confirmation our community is a great place to do business in South Carolina. The continued growth of our existing industries plays a large role in the success of our county and we stand ready to assist them in their future endeavors,” Greenwood Partnership Alliance Chairman Jim Medford said.
