China, in second place, sold approximately US$1.22 trillion worth of goods abroad, according to the Chinese trade ministry's official website. The World Trade Organization has predicted that China will surpass Germany in exports in 2009. German-made auto exports led the sales of goods abroad, with 4.3 million vehicles sold. Other strong industries include machine tools and food processing.
