H.E. Butt Grocery Company, a grocery retailer that operates more than 300 stores in the U.S. southwest and Mexico, will build a 400,000-square-foot distribution center in Temple, Texas, according to the Austin Business Journal. The warehouse, which will be built adjacent to the city's rail park, is expected to create more than 200 new jobs when completed. Temple is "strategically located in the Central Texas region, has good highway and rail access, and will allow HEB to better serve our customers," says Brad Alm, H.E. Butt's director of industrial projects, quoted in the Journal. No information was released regarding the company's financial investment or incentives from state or local agencies.
