Mattress manufacturer Spring Air Company will invest $30 million to
open a facility in Durant, Oklahoma, according to state commerce
officials. Up to 300 new jobs are planned with the project, with 100
coming this year. The state-of-the-art production center, which will be
the company's largest manufacturing facility in the United States, will
be located in an empty 351,000-square-foot facility in the Durant
Industrial Park and should be operational by this summer. "As our
company continues to grow, we needed a state-of-the-art facility that
would bring us closer to our customers in this region of the country,"
says Steve Cumbow, Spring Air's CEO, who also said the
Florida-headquartered company chose Durant because of its access to
major interstate highways. No information was released regarding
financial incentives offered to the company.
