Nordic Windpower Ltd. will build a new North American manufacturing center in Pocatello, Idaho. More than 160 new technical, engineering, and administrative jobs will be created at the Idaho facility, with additional positions created at the company's other operation centers in California and the United Kingdom. "Pocatello has a favorable cost of operations, and an excellent work force and location central to potential customers and transportation," says Steve Taber, the company's CEO and co-founder. The company has leased a 42,786-square-foot facility and is exploring a number of expansion options, with up to four times more space available at the site. Financial information for the deal was not released, but company officials say that the state and local governments have offered incentives and assistance.
