Medical insurance provider Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama will
open a call center in Huntsville, Alabama, according to the Huntsville
Times. A company spokesperson tells the Times that the center will
employ approximately 80 people, with the jobs being transfered back to
Alabama after being outsourced to a company in Arkansas. Jim Brown of
Blue Cross says that Huntsville was chosen because it is "a good
location to attract a talented work force." The call center will be
located in approximately 44,000 square feet of a flex office/industrial
building in the western part of Huntsville; the company says the core
and shell of the building will be LEED certified for energy efficiency.
No information was released regarding financial investment or
incentives offered to the company.
