GMAC Financial Services, the financing division of General Motors, will invest $16.4 million to expand its operations in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company will create more than 200 new jobs with an average annual salary of $96,124 plus benefits. "We are excited about growing our presence in Charlotte," says Alvaro G. de Molina, GMAC's CEO and a longtime resident of Charlotte. "This is a great city with a deep talent pool." The new positions are planned in the information technology, marketing, and finance areas. The company has been offered financial incentives that include a grant, contingent on job creation, that could yield up to $4.5 million.
