WGS Global Services LC announced today that it will open a new production facility in Tell City, Indiana, creating 70 jobs by 2013. WGS, which provides manufacturing and logistics support to automotive, defense, and commercial manufacturing companies, will invest $279,000 for the 22,500-square-foot plant, its first, independent, Indiana-based site.

"Indiana is a great place to do business and expand our operations, and we are excited about continuing to search for future growth opportunities," said William Goetz, president and CEO of WGS.

Based in Flint, Michigan, WGS currently employs 20 people in Tell City. It will continue to hire for manufacturing, distribution, and inspections positions.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation extended $275,000 in performance-based tax credits to WGS based on the company's job creation plans. The expansion comes a week after wire manufacturer TOKUSEN USA said it would invest several million dollars in a Scottsburg, Indiana facility, creating 134 new jobs by 2012.
