Verizon Wireless will invest $27 million to open a new customer service center in Alpharetta, Georgia, according to the Georgia governor's office. The company plans to create 600 new jobs at the facility, which will be located in a 141,805-square-foot building near other Verizon Wireless facilities in Alpharetta. "We are delighted to open a new customer service center at Sanctuary Park in Alpharetta as we further expand our presence in the state of Georgia," says Jeff Mango, president of Verizon Wireless' Georgia/Alabama region. "We are indebted to the city and the community at large for embracing us. We look forward to opening this center, hiring our employees, and growing our presence in this market." The company plans to begin hiring later this month; Verizon Wireless currently employs more than 4,000 in Georgia. The governor's office did not release information regarding financial incentives for the company.
