Kelley Engineering, a premier designer and manufacturer of custom automation equipment, will establish operations in Pelzer, South Carolina. The $6 million project is expected to create 80 new jobs in Anderson County.
Located at 1709 Easley Highway, the new facility will expand the company’s build-to-print manufacturing operations and accommodate growth to meet increasing demand. The expansion is planned for completion in the first quarter of 2023.
“We are excited about this next chapter for Kelley Engineering. This latest expansion will give us a combined 82,000 square feet which will allow us to expand our manufacturing and automation capabilities. Growing up in Anderson County, I knew this was an awesome community to raise a family, but I have also seen how great it is to grow a business. It is easy to buy a building and equipment, but the people you hire are what make a company great. Our company culture of hiring good people and promoting within has really made us stand out and be successful in this competitive market. We are looking forward to providing many more good-paying jobs as we continue to grow,” Kelley Engineering CEO Matt Kelley said.
Founded in 2015, Kelley Engineering provides automation equipment, computer numerical control machining and metal fabrication for a variety of industries across the Southeast including aerospace, automotive, injection molding, packaging, tires and much more.
“South Carolina’s advanced manufacturing industry continues to thrive, and today’s announcement by Kelley Engineering is a testament to that. By expanding its already significant operations in Anderson County, Kelley Engineering is making a statement that South Carolina, with our pro-business environment and world-class workforce, is the ideal location for companies,” Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III noted.
