Peco Foods will invest $40 million to expand its operations at the former AmeriCold warehouse in West Point, Mississippi. The company expects to hire 300 associates during the next four years.

The company is acquiring the 185,000-square-foot warehouse to provide freezer and storage space for its poultry production. The company also has a processing plant in Canton.

Governor Phil Bryant said the company’s expansion effort “is a testament to our skilled workforce and job-friendly tax and regulatory climate.”

As an incentive, the state is providing $3 million in infrastructure grants and workforce training; In addition city of West Point is providing tax incentives on its water and sewer charges.

This win is the result of our teamwork with the Golden Triangle Development LINK, the city of West Point and Clay County in support of Peco Foods’ continued growth in Mississippi,” said Glenn McCullough Jr., Director of Mississippi Development Authority.
