Worthington Industries Engineered Cabs, a market leader in the design and manufacturing of high-quality, custom-engineered operator cabs for industrial mobile equipment, will invest $2.5 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Florence County, South Carolina, for the second time in two years.

The company will expand its metal fabrication facility located in the Pee Dee Commerce City Park. Worthington Industries Engineered Cabs currently employs approximately 300 people at the facility. Its investment will result in the addition of 40 additional employees to its workforce.

The company will employ fabricators, welders, painters, assemblers, material handlers, maintenance and engineers. Safety training, lean manufacturing, on-the-job training and engineering/technician training is provided.

"We are pleased to continue to add to the workforce in Florence. We appreciate the support of the local community and state of South Carolina as we work to grow our business,” said Worthington Industries Engineered Cabs President John Lamprinakos

"We just celebrated Worthington's last expansion in 2013, and it is great to see that the company is expanding again - a real sign that our state is a place where businesses can grow and succeed. Worthington Industries Engineered Cabs investing $2.5 million and creating 40 new jobs is a big win for Florence,” Governor Nikki Haley said.

"South Carolina continues to be the place to do business, and we see that with expansions like this one by Worthington Industries. We celebrate the company's decision to invest. Announcements like this show we are on the right track with our economic development efforts,” Frank J. "Buddy" Brand, Chairman of Florence County Economic Development Partnership said.
