The Sierra Nevada Corporation is expanding its work force at its headquarters in Sparks, Nevada. The company, which creates high-tech electronics engineering and manufacturing equipment, will hire 40 new employees.

"Such planned growth benefits our customers and employees, plus allows SNC to give back to the local community through partnerships with innovative programs at DRI [Desert Research Institute] and UNR [University of Nevada, Reno]," said Corporate Recruiting Manager Amy Martin.

Just last year, the company hired 37 new employees to bring its total work force to more than 400 people. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada estimates the total financial impact on the region at $14 million.
