Area Development
Coastal Automotive, an automotive manufacturer and Tier 1 global automotive company from Southeast Michigan, is expanding production into a 300,000 square foot production center at 900 Brooks Ave. in Holland, Michigan.

The company manufactures several innovative products, including an industry-leading energy management solution, IMPAXX. The technology is used globally in passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as by NASCAR and the aerospace industry. Coastal expects to begin operations next month and create 150 new jobs over the next three years.

"Expanding production into Holland was a natural fit for us," said Clarence Martin, President of Coastal Automotive. "The Holland area has significant expertise in manufacturing and the auto industry, and the area has a very talented workforce." Coastal Container, a sister company to Coastal Automotive, is also based in Holland.

According to company officials, Coastal Automotive's expansion into West Michigan is the first step in a strategic, four-year global expansion initiative, in which the company plans production growth into Mexico, China, and Europe. "The West Michigan expansion is a great complement to our successful operations in Rochester Hills and we see the two locations working together as the foundation of our plan for global growth," Martin said.
