Area Development
Kemper System Production, a U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based Kemper System GmbH, will locate its North American production headquarters in West Seneca, New York, according to the Buffalo News. The company, which manufactures waterproofing and roofing membranes, has acquired a vacant 45,000-square-foot building that can be expanded by an additional 25,000 square feet. The News says company officials plan to hire 10 people initially and increase employment to up to 30 over the next two years. Richard W. Doornink, Kemper System Production's president, tells the News that company officials decided they needed a North American manufacturing presence in order to be competitive in the U.S. market and to maximize potential sales in Canada and South America. He says the company chose the Buffalo area over locations in Florida and North Carolina due to its geography, labor force, and cost of doing business. The company's sales and marketing division is headquartered in New Jersey and remain there.
