Specialty printer Herff Jones is closing in Scranton, Pennsylvania, laying off 100 employees, the Scranton Times-Tribune reports. The company, which is based in Indianapolis, makes yearbooks, diplomas, and other paraphernalia for schools and businesses. The closure is due to poor business conditions.

"We deeply regret the negative impact on the affected employees and will offer severance benefits and career transition services," company Vice President David Burkert said in a statement.

Herff Jones occupied a space in the Scott Technology Park and had operations in Scott Township for approximately 40 years. The company will move production to facilities in Indianapolis and Iola, Kansas.
