Area Development
A 22,000 acre Nevada data center site in Winnemucca, just North East of Reno, is under development. Winnemucca is the halfway point between Salt Lake City and San Francisco along Interstate 80, the same corridor where Apple has established their major data center campus.

With 120 MW of available grid power, abundant natural gas, access to solar, and established water rights, the site is suitable for scale data center deployments that require proximity to the proven markets of Silicon Valley, Las Vegas and Reno. Wired Real Estate Group, the nation's leading independent cloud, colocation, and data center advisory firm, has been selected by the developer as data center advisor.

Data center users are attracted to Nevada owing to its insulation from natural disasters as well as the availability of fiber, power, land and tax incentives, Wired Real Estate Group officials said. “This Winnemucca data center development is no exception, sitting outside natural disaster risk areas with easy access to fiber, gas, solar, ample water, and power. The site is ideal for solar power with the ability to support a utility scale project and generate over 6 kWH per square meter per day."

"With 22,000 acres, we are seeking opportunities to work with data center users that require world class infrastructure over the long term. WiredRE's heritage in power development along with their data center expertise is a great match for the scale and breadth of this unique project," said Stacy Kincaid, of the property's ownership group.

"GAMFY (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, and Yahoo) have proven that data centers are more like utilities and power plants every day. The scale of this data center development in Winnemucca is enormous, and it's the perfect fit for today's sophisticated user." commented Everett Thompson, WiredRE CEO, "This is another great example of a unique alternative for demanding data center users."
