Fabtration, LLC, a privately-owned fabricator of filtration systems, will invest $4.2 million to expand its operations center in Georgetown, Indiana. The company plans to create up to 16 new jobs by 2018.

The company will add 15,000 square feet to its existing 10,000-square-foot facility at 526 Maplewood Blvd. in Georgetown. The 35-foot tall expansion will add 11 feet of ceiling space and allow Fabtration to manufacture and assemble larger scale products, improve manufacturing efficiency and safety, and expand production output. The addition will also house additional manufacturing equipment and office space.

Fabtration is a custom steel fabrication and design facility, specializing in providing steel fabrication, and assembly of custom automated machinery, conveyors and pump systems. The homegrown Hoosier company primarily serves automotive customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and recently expanded its services to include full assembly of thermal energy systems.

“I’m amazed with the amount of support I have received for my project from both the local community and the state,” said Rick Keenan, Owner of Fabtration, LLC. “We have a great manufacturing team at Fabtration, LLC and to know we have a strong support system in the business community makes our growth that much easier. I know going forward I have a team of professionals available to assist us as we continue to grow in Floyd County. As a small business owner I am able to do what I need to do – meet customer needs knowing that I just have to pick up the phone and I have a support system. It has been a great experience.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Fabtration, LLC up to $115,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Floyd County will consider additional incentives at the request of One Southern Indiana.
