MCPc, a global data protection provider, will invest $2.8 million to expand its operations center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The project is expected to create 28 high-tech jobs.

MCPc has added a new device disposal service and needs to expand its information technology workspace and workforce. With the help of the Jobs Ready Michigan grant, MCPc plans to consolidate several operations in Michigan into a new facility located at 1601 Madison Avenue in Grand Rapids. The company celebrated the project at a groundbreaking ceremony held today at the site of its future facility.

According to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the expansion will be supported by a $70,000 Jobs Ready Michigan performance-based grant approved by the Michigan Strategic Fund.

The city of Grand Rapids supported the project through its Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Local Brownfield Revolving Fund.? The Southtown CIA also supported the project through its development support policy. The project will also be seeking reimbursement for eligible environmental activities from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy in the amount of $943,000. In addition, The Right Place team worked with MCPc to connect the company to state and local resources.
