General Dynamics ViPS is bringing 100 new jobs to Baltimore County, Maryland. The company is hiring technology workers in its Health IT Solutions division. The expansion comes after General Dynamics won contracts with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Those include an $80.3 million award for the department's Early Retiree Reinsurance Program.

"Information technology will play an instrumental role in implementing healthcare reform. ERRP is one of the first major initiatives assigned to HHS under the new legislation," said Art Lehrer, vice president and general manager of the Health IT Solutions division.

ViPS already has more than 600 employees in its Baltimore County offices of Towson and Woodlawn.
