Area Development
Green Leaf Incorporated, a manufacturer and distributor of valves, fittings, and sprayer accessories for the agricultural and industrial markets, will invest $1.4 million to expand its operations in Fontanet, Indiana, according to Inside INdiana Business. The company plans to create 34 new jobs by 2012, with initial hiring beginning later this year. The expansion will include a 26,000-square-foot addition to Green Leaf's existing facility that will accommodate a new product line. "After initially recognizing a great opportunity, several months of hard work and preparation went into our decision to enter the sprayer market," says Pete Goda, Green Leaf's president. "We have deep roots in the Fontanet area, and operating in a rural Indiana community certainly has its advantages, including a casual Hoosier environment." The state has offered the company up to $120,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $15,000 in training grants, contingent on job creation.
