Aviat Networks, a provider of IP network migration services, is closing its facility in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park. The closure is part of a corporate restructuring plan to reduce annual spending by up to $35 million.

"The closing of the RTP facility is an extension of Aviat Networks' restructuring plan aimed at reducing costs, streamlining operations, and optimizing the Company's business model," said Chuck Kissner, chairman and CEO of Aviat. "The Board and management team continue to move quickly and decisively to implement the key actions of our restructuring plan. As we continue to roll out the plan, we expect to build a solid platform to restore profitability and drive revenue growth going forward."

The move will result in several relocations of operations from Research Triangle Park. The Network Operations Center will move to San Antonio, Texas; IT/Network and Applications Support and finance operations will move to Santa Clara, California; and some engineering functions will move to facilities in Slovenia and New Zealand.
