Area Development
Impress USA, a manufacturer of consumer metal packaging products, will build a new facility in Conklin, New York, with a $40 million investment. The 100,000-square-foot plant, to be built in Broome County Corporate Park, will be used to manufacture metal can tops for food and commercial products. The project will initially bring 75 new full-time jobs during the first phase of construction and initial operations. The Pennsylvania-headquartered company, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Impress, plans to construct the facility to allow for a second phase of expansion. "We continue to see good growth opportunities in the U.S.A.," says Francis Labbe, CEO of Impress. "We had a wide choice of locations for this major development, but we have been so impressed by the energy and the support offered by the State of New York that our decision to locate the plant here was easy." The company has been offered state and local incentives of at least $2 million.
