Area Development
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, a manufacturer of products used to diagnose chronic health conditions, will expand its operations in Brookfield, Connecticut, according to the Connecticut governor's office. The company will add 30,000 square feet to its 100,000-square-foot assembly and distribution facility, as well as adding at least 73 new positions and retaining 350. "Adding new jobs at this facility will expand our capabilities and have a positive impact on the Brookfield-area communities," says Donal Quinn, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics' CEO. "We believe quality manufacturing is a critical element to serving our clinical laboratory customers and that each employee plays an important role in helping healthcare professionals provide quality patient care." Financial details of the state's incentive package were not released, but it is reported to include a combination of loans, tax credits, and training grants.
