{{RELATEDLINKS}} U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker honored 123 U.S. companies and organizations that export goods and services overseas during the 2016 President’s “E” Awards ceremony in May 2016. For the first time in the award’s 54-year history, winners represent every state and the District of Columbia. Of this year’s 123 honorees, 105 are small and medium-sized businesses, and 64 firms are manufacturers. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.

Corfin Industries LLC is a prominent aerospace and defense firm whose products prevent catastrophic failure in mission- and life-critical systems. The company provides component preparation services to the defense, aerospace, medical, telecommunications, transportation, industrial, and other high reliability industries from their Salem, N.H., facility.Corfin is also a founding member of the New Hampshire Aerospace & Defense Consortium , an exporting alliance of more than 200 companies in the state involved in aerospace and defense manufacturing and services.

The N.H. Office of International Commerce aids New Hampshire companies in discovering the world of opportunity that exists in overseas markets. In 2014, 20,048 U.S. jobs were supported by goods exported from New Hampshire. As of 2013, 2,625 New Hampshire companies are exporting. The majority of these companies, 87 percent, are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with fewer than 500 employees. SMEs generate approximately 36 percent of New Hampshire’s total exports of merchandise.
