Daimler to Bring 1,200 Jobs to North Carolina by Year-End 2012
01/13/2012
"We can proudly announce we're bringing 1,200 new jobs to North Carolina and this community," said Gov. Bev Perdue.
In 2009, economic pressures from the nation's ongoing recession forced Daimler to lay off 1,500 workers and eliminate that entire shift. However, this job creation news tells the world that Daimler has "successfully left the recession behind," explained CEO Roger Nielsen.
The company said most of the positions will be filled by employees laid off in the past, and that those individuals would be the first to be hired back.
