Kirby Risk Corp. Invests $2 Million To Establish Griffin, Georgia, Manufacturing Facility

01/28/2013
Kirby Risk Corporation, a leading provider of electrical wiring harnesses, control panels and precision machined castings, will invest $2 million to establish a manufacturing operation in the former Fashion Industries building in Griffin, Georgia, with plans to create approximately 50 jobs.

Kirby Risk Service Center will be the name of the manufacturing operation located at 940 Harlow Avenue. Initially large control panels will be assembled and tested to serve customers in the southeastern United States.

Doug Mansfield, Kirby Risk Corporation’s President of Manufacturing, stated, “Kirby Risk looks forward to a long term partnership with the City of Griffin and Spalding County. We are excited about the business opportunities and look forward to establishing positive relationships with the citizens and business community. As we refurbish our new facility over the next six or so months and hire staff, we look forward to working with Griffin’s local suppliers and contractors.”

“We certainly welcome Kirby Risk to our community. Their commitment to invest $2 million in an existing facility and their anticipated creation of 50 new jobs in our community will be a great boost to our tax base and overall economy. Though the economic recovery still appears weak at best, we are encouraged by the commitments we are beginning to see from the business community to prepare for the demands of a more robust economic recovery,” stated Griffin-Spalding Development Authority Chairman Chuck Copeland. Information on hiring or tax incentives for which the firm might qualify was not immediately available.
