Russia Says “Da” to Kimberly-Clark

Health and hygiene products giant Kimberly-Clark will build its first manufacturing center in Russia to support growing business there and in Eastern Europe. The new facility - which will include manufacturing buildings, offices, warehousing, and roads - will be located in Stupino, approximately 60 miles southeast of Moscow, and will occupy approximately 100 acres. Company officials are planning for startup in early 2009, and expect approximately 150 new jobs at that time, with more being added as the facility's manufacturing capacity increases. "We chose Stupino for its developed infrastructure, highly qualified work force, and excellent location for accessing the major cities of Russia and Eastern Europe," says Jonathan Tarr, Kimberly-Clark's managing director for Eastern Europe. The facility will produce personal care products under the Huggies and Kleenex brands.
