Steel Manufacturer Building New Facility in Ohio

Republic Special Metals, a manufacturer of specialty steel products, will invest $64 million to build a new manufacturing facility in North Jackson, Ohio, according to local economic development officials. At least 60 new jobs will be created with the project, at an average annual wage of $50,000 per year. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the North Jackson facility, the company's second in the state, will supply products for the aerospace industry. Construction is slated to begin sometime within the next two months and should take 12 to 18 months to complete. No information was released about incentives offered to the company.
