Mexican Textile Manufacturer Opening Facility in North Carolina

12/11/2009
Marves Industries, a Mexico-headquartered manufacturer of textile cushioning used in mattress products, will invest US$1.75 million to open a factory in Hildebran, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company, which will take over a vacant existing facility, plans to create 66 new jobs at an average annual salary of $33,636 plus benefits. "North Carolina offers the ideal strategic location to cover 50 percent of the potential market that Marves Industries is interested in pursuing," says Elias Gomez, the company's general manager. "The availability of the building, equipment, and trained labor in Hildebran weighed heavily in the decision." The state is providing a $200,000 grant, contingent on job creation, that must be matched by local governments.
