MPC Expands Its Manufacturing And Distribution to Janesville, Wisconsin

03/23/2012
Miniature Precision Components will lease 325,000 square feet at the Helgesen Industrial Center located in Janesville, Wisconsin's Beloit Avenue Industrial Corridor to expand the manufacturing and distribution of its thermoplastic components.

MPC is committed to designing, producing and delivering complex, cost-effective solutions for an increasingly dynamic customer base. To accomplish these goals, MPC required a strategic and optimal distribution location," Dennis Konkol, MPC president said. "Coupled with the city's geographic proximity and excellent supply of high caliber talent, Rock County presented itself as an appealing location."

While the company had offers to open a manufacturing facility from other states, incentives such as a Tax Increment Financing loan package from the city, which requires the firm to add an estimated 90 jobs in three years, and an award from Wisconsin Economic Development persuaded MPC to expand its operation in this southern Wisconsin city of 63,000.

James Otterstein, Rock County Economic Development manager, said "this lease represents an important milestone for the area, as well as the real estate community. During the last six months, approximately 850,000 square feet of vacant industrial and warehouse space has been leased or purchased. The Janesville-Beloit economy is continually repositioning and revitalizing itself."
