Corey Associates Expands Operations in Pike County, Pennsylvania

CAI requires additional production space to meet product demand. The project includes the construction of a new 3,500-square-foot building at its Greene Township manufacturing facility, and the purchase of machinery and equipment to expand production. The company plans to invest $690,000 into the project, which is expected to create 24 new, full-time jobs and retain 36 existing jobs over the next three years.
“After much consideration of its on-going growth and most amazing team of employees, CAI management has decided to remain in eastern Pennsylvania,” said Karen Kosydar, President of CAI. “The response and support of the Wolf Administration and the Governor’s Action Team certainly aided in the decision to stay here and is truly appreciated.”
CAI received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for a $50,000 Pennsylvania First grant, $24,000 in job creation tax credits to be distributed upon the creation of new jobs, and a $17,850 workforce development grant to help the company train its existing workers.
CAI was also encouraged to apply for a $400,000 low-interest loan through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, with additional coordination through the Pike County Economic Development Authority.
“In rural counties like Pike County, companies such as Corey Associates are the bedrock of many communities,” said Michael Sullivan, executive director of the Pike County Economic Development Authority. “They provide career jobs, interesting work, good wages and local employment to those who live nearby. That is to say nothing of fueling the local economy with payroll, taxes and commercial activity. On behalf of the Pike County Commissioners, we are extremely proud of Karen Kosydar and CAI’s expansion, and grateful for Governor Wolf’s commitment to our economic growth.”
“Our administration is committed to making Pennsylvania an economic leader by investing in the growth of companies like CAI,” Governor Tom Wolf said. “We are proud to help solidify their presence and encourage the creation of family sustaining jobs in the Pike region. This is an important investment for the county and its residents.”
“Helping a manufacturing operation with expansion plans strengthens and diversifies the local job picture,” said Senator Lisa Baker. “Building the product and worker bases of an established, reputable, and successful employer is a sensible approach to economic development. This project is a nice plus for Pike County.”
