McKesson Locates Distribution Facility in Olive Branch, Mississippi

05/25/2010
McKesson Corporation, a provider of healthcare services and information technologies, has selected Olive Branch, Mississippi to build a new distribution operation center. The company will invest $115 million and create 306 new jobs in the area over the next three years.

"After a thoughtful and thorough selection process, we're thrilled to be locating our National Redistribution Center in Olive Branch," said John Figueroa, president of McKesson's U.S. Pharmaceutical Division. "This brand new facility will allow us to more efficiently serve our growing customer needs with the most advanced material handling systems available, and will be seen as a model for McKesson's other distribution centers."

The facility will include brand new warehousing systems and significant technical upgrades from its current facility in Memphis.

The Mississippi Development Authority will contribute $4 million from its Financing Revolving Fund for the project. The city of Olive Branch will offer up to $260,500 for infrastructure improvements, and DeSoto County will extend $250,000.

McKesson is currently ranked at number 14 on the Fortune 500. It has headquarters in San Francisco.
