3M Expands Springfield, Missouri, Operations
05/25/2017
3M intends to upgrade its current plant located in Springfield. The expansion helps solidify the company’s presence in Springfield. Company officials expect the expansion will result in the creation of approximately 90 full-time positions over the next several years.
“This investment builds upon our 50 years of successful operations in Springfield and our commitment to the community,” said Frederick James, Plant Manager, 3M Springfield.
“We thank 3M for its decision to invest in Missouri and in our workers by creating dozens of new jobs,” said Governor Eric Greitens. “3M is a science-based global company that manufactures more than 50,000 products that people use every day. “
“We hope 3M’s expansion of its adhesives and tapes division in Missouri sends a message to those in the business community, from the small family business to the major corporation-- that we are going to work to help them grow and prosper,” he added.
The City of Springfield, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Springfield Business Development Corporation also assisted the company with its expansion.
