Honda Aero Lands in North Carolina

08/21/2007
Honda Aero, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., has announced plans to establish its headquarters and jet engine manufacturing operations at the Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport in Burlington, North Carolina. The project, which includes the production of the engine for the company's new HondaJet, will create at least 70 jobs at an investment of $27 million. According to the company's statement, the average annual salary for the new positions will exceed $62,000, plus benefits; this is nearly double the average annual salary for the Alamance County region. Honda Aero will be required to meet performance targets in consideration of a Job Development Investment Grant given to the company by the state to facilitate the project.
