Sintergy Inc. Plans $2 Million Expansion At Its Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, Manufacturing Plant

09/20/2013
Powdered metal manufacturer, Sintergy Inc., will invest $2 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, with the acquisition of a 750-ton press to produce lawn and garden parts.

The state Department of Community and Economic Development said the new press will allow the company to expand its markets to meet the requests of existing and potential customers. The press is currently being built by Gasbarre Products, located in DuBois, Clearfield County.

“Gov. (Tom) Corbett is proud to support companies like Sintergy because they exemplify what it takes to be successful as a business and a community partner,” Economic Development Secretary C. Alan Walker said. “The company continues to grow and provide good jobs for the people of this region – not only at the manufacturing facility itself but at Gasbarre Products, Inc. in DuBois where the new press is being built.”

As an incentive to assist the firm with its fifth expansion in 10 years, Sintergy will receive a $200,000 loan from the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Small Business First fund to purchase the press. The company will invest nearly $2 million and has committed to the retention of its 55 existing employees.
