09/20/2017
Key Safety Systems, an auto parts supplier, opened a 120,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Matamoros, Mexico. The facility is on the border with the Lone Star State, three miles from Brownsville, Texas.

Located on 4.9-acres, the company already hired 600 employees to assemble steering wheels for major car companies, and plans to have up to 1,400 associates by early next year.

According to local officials this is the sixth plant that the China-based auto supplier opened in Tamaulipas to assemble auto parts.

“KSS is one of the most successful companies in the world and is proud to be investing in Tamaulipas. It means more progress, welfare and development for thousands of workers on the border,” Secretary of Economic Development Carlos W. Talancón Ostos said.

He added “the economic impulse of Tamauilpas,” is “advancing positively.”
