Poultry Processor Expanding, Adding 103 Jobs in North Carolina

09/29/2009
Townsends Inc., a producer and marketer of poultry products, will invest $700,000 to expand its processing facility in Mocksville, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. The company plans to create 103 new jobs with an average annual salary of $21,496 plus benefits. The Mocksville facility, which operates under the name Crestwood Farms, will add a production line of fully cooked products, increasing the facility's capacity by approximately 25 percent. "Townsends is proud to be part of the North Carolina business community," says John Pastrana, the company's vice president of operations. "We appreciate all the hard work and time everyone has put into this project." The state will provide a $250,000 grant to Townsends, contingent on job creation, that must be matched by local governments.
