Kellogg Expanding, Creating 300 New Jobs in Indiana

09/03/2008
Cereal and snack maker Kellogg Company will create approximately 300 new full-time and contract jobs over the next few years as part of an expansion at the former IndyBake cracker and cookie production facility in Seelyville, Indiana. The company also plans to hire most of IndyBake's current employees. "Expanding our snacks business is a key element of Kellogg's business strategy and commitment to driving sustainable growth," says David Mackay, Kellogg's president and CEO. "This acquisition will help us expand our capacity to manufacture existing and proprietary snack products as well as enable new product innovations." The state has offered the company up to $740,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $120,000 in training grants contingent on job creation, along with up to $500,000 in grants to offset infrastructure improvements. Local governments will provide tax abatement and additional infrastructure assistance.
