South Carolina Plastics Invests $12 Million On Greenville, South Carolina Production Facility

The company creates complex automotive components such as door modules, door handles, cable drum housings and covers for seat belts, among other components for the automotive industry as well as the Home Appliance, Medical and Rail industries.
"We are excited about moving forward with plans for our new facility in Greenville County. South Carolina offers us an excellent business climate and a close proximity to customers, as well as a talented workforce. We appreciate all the support we've received from state and local officials," said Martin Kean, vice president of Carolina Technical Plastics Corporation and South Carolina Plastics LLC.
The company will establish a new manufacturing operation at 800 Woodside Avenue in the Greenville County city of 6,000 residents ,subject to successful completion of due diligence activities and acquisition of the Fountain Inn site, the Upstate South Carolina Alliance said.
"It's a great day in South Carolina when another new company chooses to put down roots here. We celebrate South Carolina Plastics LLC's decision to invest $12 million and create 119 new jobs in Greenville. We are working every day to help bring more job-creating investments to South Carolina," said Gov. Nikki Haley.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a Governor's closing fund grant for $825,000 for building upfit, site preparation and infrastructure.
"Today's announcement by South Carolina Plastics LLC builds on our reputation in the automotive club. The automotive industry continues to be a driver of economic growth in the Palmetto State's economy and a key part of our overall manufacturing sector," said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
"South Carolina Plastics LLC's decision to locate its new production facility here in Greenville County is welcome news," noted H.G. "Butch" Kirven, a director of the Greenville Area Development Corporation and chairman of Greenville County Council. "Their decision to locate here affirms that this area's burgeoning advanced manufacturing cluster continues to grow and thrive, and should serve as a magnet for more suppliers, more talented individuals and more good paying jobs for our community."
