Suburban Plastics Plans Expansion Of Its Grenada, Mississippi, Manufacturing Plant

12/12/2014
Suburban Plastics, manufacturer of thermoplastic and engineered composites, is expanding operations at its Grenada, Mississippi, location to accommodate an increase in production. The expansion includes a 25,000 square foot addition to the company’s existing facility. The project represents a $350,000 corporate investment and will create 60 jobs.

“This expansion represents a strong trend of continuing growth for our company here in Grenada, and we are pleased to be able to create additional opportunities for the area workforce,” said Suburban Plastics Vice President Jeremy Baxter. “We appreciate the support our company receives from the city of Grenada, Grenada County, and the state of Mississippi, as well as the Grenada County Economic Development District.”

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for the construction of an access road and one-time relocation costs. The city of Grenada also provided incentive assistance.

“MDA takes pride in utilizing our resources to best meet the needs of companies like Suburban Plastics as they pursue growth opportunities and provide jobs for the residents of Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “We thank our partners at the city of Grenada, Grenada County, and the Grenada County Economic Development District for working with us to help this great company expand, and we wish Suburban Plastics many more years of success in our state.”

“I appreciate the Suburban Plastics team for selecting its Grenada location as the site of their expansion. When Mississippi’s existing companies continue to invest in their operations and create new jobs, they are further strengthening the state’s overall economy and their local communities, improving the quality of life for their residents and workforce,” Governor Phil Bryant said. “I thank the company for being a valued business partner to the state of Mississippi for nearly 20 years and for helping show the world that Mississippi Works.”
