Orchid Orthopedic Solutions Alabama Expands Jackson, Tennessee, Manufacturing Facility
12/02/2014
”Working with the local and state economic development agencies has made this process efficient and effortless,” Orchid Tax Accountant Keith Wasilenski said. “They have been there every step of the way to answer questions, provide assistance, and ensure that our needs are met as we continue to grow in Jackson.”
The facility is an expansion of Orchid Alabama, which is part of the Orchid family of companies worldwide. Orchid is a leader of medical device outsourcing services with 13 manufacturing facilities worldwide and customers in more than 20 countries. The company offers a broad array of services and capabilities for orthopedic and medical device development and manufacturing.
Orchid established operations in Jackson in April of this year. Due to increased product demand, the company will purchase additional equipment to increase manufacturing capacity and capabilities, and add to its existing workforce in order to meet the demand, economic and community development officials said.
"Tennessee is the number one state in the nation for foreign direct investment job commitments, and Orchid is a key player in one of the state's leading industries,” Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty said. “We have seen this sector grow in a significant manner under Governor Haslam's administration. We salute Orchid’s success and remain enthusiastic about the potential for further growth in Tennessee."
