02/03/2016
The firm will locate and lease space in the Meter Bearing facility located at 220 Anderson Road in Walterboro, South Carolina. Meter Bearing also located to Walterboro from Italy. The company will produce flanges, turned washers, and turned rings for precision ball and roller bearings. According to the company, an initial customer base has already been established and will grow as production begins in 2016.
“We are excited about doing business in the U.S. When Meter Bearings located here, it was great incentive for us to do the same. We work well with them and can fill the need for more specialized products. Colleton County is the best U.S. location for us,” said BUSCOT Co-founder Giorgio Bussone said.
"We’re excited to welcome BUSCOT to the South Carolina family, and we're proud the company's first U.S. facility will call Walterboro home. When Team South Carolina works together, companies like BUSCOT take notice - and that keeps us motivated to keep the momentum going,” said Governor Nikki Haley.
“South Carolina continues to lead the way in the manufacturing renaissance, and today’s announcement by BUSCOT LLC is a testament to that. This $1.15 million investment speaks to the pro-business environment we’ve cultivated in all corners of our state,” Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said.
