QuEST Global Opens Houston, Texas, Engineering Center
06/26/2014
The company has over 100 employees in the Houston area and plans to hire many more to support increasing demands for engineering services in the oil and gas sector.
Officials from QuEST Global said earlier this year the firm acquired Beeken TechQuest and its Bangalore based arm, UFT Beeken Engineering Services, “to create a highly capable team to support the oil and gas upstream technology area. The Houston location will be the hub of QuEST's global oil and gas business as it expands its footprint worldwide.”
"The mission of our new Houston center is to help oil field service companies offload their non-core engineering activities to us, so they can focus on new product development and innovation," said Ajit Prabhu, Chairman/CEO of QuEST Global. "The new office in Houston also fulfills QuEST's commitment to deliver world class service to its Houston-based customers, as having a local team will drive collaboration as well as minimize cultural barriers for all. The center will provide 300 to 400 new career opportunities in the Houston area over the next few years and contribute to the city's overall economic growth."
“The oil and gas industry is facing many challenges today, including escalating labor and capital costs, increasing complexity of drilling and completions, increasing lead times and more stringent governmental regulations and an engineering talent demographic disadvantage in the region,” company officials noted. “To overcome these challenges and remain competitive, oil field service companies and equipment manufacturers need to reduce well construction and production costs through innovation and business process changes. These changes include engaging high capability engineering providers like QuEST Global.”
"QuEST Global's new engineering center in Houston will enable our customers to optimize their capacity to achieve greater business and process efficiencies while generating significant cost-savings and reducing cycle time," said Steve Gerber, QuEST Global's senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts. "The demand for engineering services and solutions from the oil field industry will continue to grow rapidly as more companies discover the scalable benefits from outsourcing."
