Gorbel Adds Manufacturing Complex in Goodyear, Arizona
07/25/2018
The facility will add more than 20 projected jobs during the first phase in addition to a sizable capital investment. This location serves Gorbel’s expanding customer base in the southwest region.
“Our mission is simply to ‘Improve People’s Lives’. We believe that this customer-focused expansion will do just that by bringing production of our ergonomic lifting and safety solutions closer to current and future end users,” said Brian Reh, President & CEO of Gorbel.
“Gorbel’s expansion in our state opens a range of new job opportunities for Arizonans in the manufacturing industry,” said Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. “Adding them to the list of job creators in one of Arizona’s fastest growing industries is welcomed news.”
According to Greater Phoenix Economic Development Council, Gorbel evaluated Utah and Nevada, but ultimately selected Arizona for their expansion due to the location’s ability to meet their logistical needs and customer demand, lower cost of doing business, and availability of talent.
“I want to thank Gorbel for choosing FLITE for its newest location. Gorbel’s national and international presence in the industrial sector is a great addition to the Phoenix/Goodyear Airport area that will help revitalize this employment center. It now joins a list of many other successful companies in the region,” said Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord. “Anytime we can bring jobs to the city, it benefits our entire community.”
The newest location in Goodyear marks Gorbel’s fourth manufacturing facility, with other operations in New York, Alabama, and China.
“The Greater Phoenix region continues to be a place where manufacturing facilities can expand operations and quickly scale,” says Chris Camacho, President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “The addition of Gorbel to our region speaks to the strong leadership in the City of Goodyear and the region’s ability to connect, collaborate and build our economy together.”
“Following a competitive site selection process, Gorbel found Goodyear to be the perfect location to serve its west coast customers,” said Sandra Watson, President & CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “This demonstrates the attractiveness of the West Valley’s workforce and operating environment to growing companies. Gorbel joins an increasing number of manufacturers choosing Arizona, and we thank them for their investment in our state.”
