Denkai America Plans Richmond County, Georgia, North American Headquarters

The company will initially invest $150 million to establish an ED copper foil production facility, with a focus on electric vehicle battery foil, on a 115-acre site. Construction is planned to begin in September 2022 as the first part of a three-phase investment, and the facility will be fully operational by December 2024.

Denkai America is a leader in the manufacture of high-quality electrodeposited copper foils for printed circuit board (PCB), industrial, and energy storage applications. With the strength of domestic manufacturing, and backed by a global presence, Denkai America delivers application specific copper foils required by technology leading companies. Operating for more than 60 years, Denkai has operations in Japan and North America.

Global Commerce Director of Corporate Solutions and Cyber Security Barton Lowrey represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) on the project in partnership with the Augusta Economic Development Authority, Georgia Power, and Georgia Quick Start. As the Technical College System of Georgia’s nationally ranked workforce training program.
