As a leading manufacturer of plastic containers in North America for a variety of markets, Silgan Plastics will establish a new facility in the Borough of North East, Pennsylvania. This move will bring 30 new jobs to Erie County.

Silgan Plastics will construct a 135,000-square-foot manufacturing, warehouse and distribution facility for plastic containers in North East, Erie County. The new facility will provide convenient access to nearby customers in the region. The company plans on making a significant investment at its new location and is also expecting to add 30 new jobs over the next three years.

As an incentive, the company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including $90,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with Develop Erie.

"Silgan is a great company, attracted to the Erie region by a great workforce and strong business partners,” said John Elliot, President of Develop Erie. “We welcome them to our community. It was a privilege to help them make their new investment in North East."

“By partnering with companies like Silgan Plastics, we are building a stronger Pennsylvania,” Governor Tom Corbett said. “Manufactures are recognizing the benefits of making their products and creating new jobs in Pennsylvania.”
