New Horizons Baking Company, a manufacturer of English muffins and soft sandwich buns, plans to expand its operations in Toledo, Ohio. The $13 million project is expected to create 45 jobs.

The investment includes bringing in machinery and equipment for a new muffin line as well as the addition of 20,000-square-feet for cold storage. Operations are scheduled to begging begin in February 2024.

“We are very excited about the economic growth opportunity of a new production line in our Toledo facility. However, we know that we cannot succeed without a strong and committed workforce. The city of Toledo and its economic development partners have been exceptional in helping us meet that goal,” Trina Bediako, CEO of New Horizons Baking said.

As an incentive the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for the company.

With this investment in Toledo, New Horizons will add a second muffin line and additional cold storage, bringing 45 new jobs to one of its two production facilities in Ohio,” J.P. Founded in 1967 as the West Baking Company, New Horizons Baking Company is a hamburger bun & English muffin producer for the largest QSR in the U.S. The company employs more than 550 people while operating four facilities between Ohio and Indiana. New Horizons produces products for over 5000 restaurants, food service facilities and wholesale establishments.
