The Mobile Airport Authority entered into a partnership with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, to open an operations center and workshop at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, Alabama.

The Mobile Aeroplex, a business unit of the Mobile Airport Authority, is the location of the new Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility. The Aeroplex is an emerging hub with robust aircraft assembly and MRO services.

According to Airport Authority officials, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty will open an office and a workshop at the Mobile Aeroplex at the end of June. Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s presence in this major aviation hub is in line with its strategy of being close to customers in the U.S. and around the world.

The Mobile facility will strengthen Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s existing international support network. A Safran building, scheduled to open within the next few years, will house Messier-Bugatti-Dowty and several other Group companies that will also contribute to the Airbus Single-Aisle program, Mobile Airport officials said.

Roger Wehner, Executive Director of Mobile Airport Authority said, "We are very excited about our evolving partnership with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty. From design to renovation/construction, we have laid the groundwork for a collaborative partnership and we believe that having a world class partner with this capability set in particular will be a win for all parties for many years to come.”

"Messier-Bugatti-Dowty is proud to join Airbus in Mobile and to contribute to single-aisle aircraft assembly in Alabama. This decision reflects our commitment to support customers locally and expand our relationship with Airbus. We look forward to being in Alabama and joining the Mobile Aerospace community," said Vincent Mascré, CEO of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty.
