The Brookfield Group, a full-service technology company, plans to expand its data center in Indianapolis and headquarters operations in Carmel, Indiana. As part of its growth, the company plans to create up to 31 jobs by 2021.

The company, which specializes in helping small businesses customize their technology systems, will invest $7 million to enhance its central Indiana operations, installing high-availability voice and data systems, on-demand storage, cloud failover systems and complete scalable virtual systems at its 11,000-square-foot headquarters at 12400 N. Meridian St. in Carmel.

The Brookfield Group will also update its downtown Indianapolis data center to accommodate the growing demand for its voice and data cloud services. Over the past five years, the company’s revenue has grown by 35 percent annually as the demand for its IT products, including hosted private cloud services, Office 365, hosted voice services and managed IT services, continues to grow.

In addition to investing in its operations, The Brookfield Group has also partnered with Indianapolis-based The Speak Easy to open a 10,000-square-foot co-working space in the same building as its headquarters. Platform 24, which officially opened today, is Carmel’s first co-working space and will allow The Brookfield Group to help support other innovators and entrepreneurs in the community.

As an incentive, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered The Brookfield Group LLC up to $235,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Cities of Carmel and Indianapolis support the project in partnership with Develop Indy, a business unit of the Indy Chamber.
